Ouches

These animations were developed during the 'Flash Camp' years. A controversial time where we were locked at our house for days on end, not allowed to see outside, forced to animate under less-than-luxurious conditions.

They're sophomoric. They're to some extent cartoonishly gory. They're poorly animated.
They're 'Ouches', a brain child evolved from stick figures gruesomely meeting their death based off of 'dpaint', a painting program in the 386/486 times of computing. 3.5" Floppy's, and 100 meg hard drives.

Dpaint was similar to the windows paint program, but it had one neat feature where you could activate a spectrum feature, so colors on the screen would cycle through all the colors of the rainbow. This itself was cool, but was even cooler was a black/white cycle. There were 5 or so colors of black that would have 'white' cycle through in order, so you could make single frame animations of a white object animating on the image. It's not easy for me to explain. So never mind. Long story shorter, we used DPAINT to animate sticks getting hurt in many different ways.

Anyways, those days long gone, we got our hands on an older version of flash, and were able to bring back that 'Ouch' sensation through flash animating. Who knew flash would go on to become the premiere web marketing magical wand? We just wanted to be violent.

These things I remember vividly:

Diet Chocolate Soda.

Really Long Sandwiches.

GUT BOMBS.
